Abstract [sv]

Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka sambanden mellan höftrörlighet och prestation i ett 40 meter långt skridskotest (40fixedLS) hos ishockeyspelare. (1RM knäböj) användes även som kovariat för att se hur stor påverkan styrkan har på resultatet. Deltagarnas höftextension och höftexflexion på både höger och vänster sida mättes med IMU-sensorer, medan sluttiden i 40fixedLS-testet registrerades med hjälp av 1080 Sprint.

Metoden bestod av att försökspersonerna fick göra 3 skridskosprint med IMU-sensorer kopplat på bäckenet samt med en lina bak på kroppen som var kopplad till 1080-sprint maskinen.

Resultaten visade ett medelstarkt positivt samband mellan höger höftextension och sluttid (r = 0.523, p = 0.018), vilket tyder på att ökad rörelseomfång i höger höft är kopplat till längre sluttid. Vänster höftextension och höftflexion på båda sidor visade däremot endast svaga och icke-signifikanta samband med sluttiden. Vid analys av total höftrörlighet observerades inga tydliga samband med prestationen på skridskotestet. När kovariaten (1RM-knäböj) kontrollerades visade det sig att det fanns ett samband i att ju högre rörelseomfång i höger höftextension korrelerade med snabbare sluttid.

Slutsatsen är att höger höftextension kan vara en relevant faktor för prestation i skridskorelaterad sprint, oberoende av styrka, medan styrka verkar vara en viktigare bidragande faktor för andra rörelsevariabler. Resultaten belyser vikten av att integrera både funktionell rörlighet och styrketräning för att optimera prestation hos ishockeyspelare.

Abstract [en]

The aim of this study was to investigate the relationships between hip mobility and performance in a 40-meter ice skating test (40fixedLS) among ice hockey players. One-repetition maximum (1RM) squat was also used as a covariate to assess the influence of strength on the results. Participants' hip extension and hip flexion on both the right and left sides were measured with IMU sensors, while the completion time in the 40fixedLS test was recorded using the 1080 Sprint system.

The method involved the participants performing three skating sprints with IMU sensors attached to the pelvis, along with a tether connected to the back, which was linked to the 1080 Sprint machine. The results showed a moderate positive correlation between right hip extension and finish time (r = 0.523, p = 0.018), suggesting that a greater range of motion in the right hip is associated with longer finish times. In contrast, left hip extension and hip flexion on both sides showed only weak and non-significant correlations with finish time. No clear associations were observed between total hip range of motion and performance in the skating test. When the covariate (1RM squat) was controlled for, the correlation between right hip extension and finish time remained, indicating that a larger range of motion in right hip extension was associated with faster times.

The conclusion is that right hip extension may be a relevant factor for skating sprint performance, independent of strength, whereas strength appears to be a more important contributing factor for other mobility variables. The results highlight the importance of integrating both functional mobility and strength training to optimize performance in ice hockey players.Formulärets överkant
