This chapter provides an overview of research as well as pedagogical perspectives on communication when teaching physical education (PE) and sport. Aspects that positively influence young people’s engagement are ways of communication, like predictability, structure, and interaction. Well-used communication can stimulate meaningful learning processes in PE and sport. Furthermore, we explore teachers’ and coaches’ possibilities to identify, design, and provide favorable conditions for an accessible learning environment by building on the three pillars: trustful relationships, structure and support, and developmental climate. The chapter ends with some teaching examples and questions of reflections.
