Abstract [sv]

Syfte

Syftet med denna studie har varit att undersöka idrottslärares uppfattning om och arbete med momentet simning i skolan. Syftet harlett fram till följande frågeställningar:

  • Hur ser idrottslärarna på skolans simundervisning?
  • Vilka faktorer påverkar idrottslärarens möjligheter att bedriva simundervisning?
  • Hur tar idrottsläraren/skolan hänsyn till kulturella hinder vad gäller simundervisningen?

Metod

Fyra stycken kvalitativa intervjuer genomfördes med lärare i Idrott och hälsa som arbetade i olika kommuner runt om i Stockholm.

Resultat

Studiens slutsats är att de intervjuade lärarna i Idrott och hälsa anser att simningen endast ärtill för kontrollera om eleven klarar kunskapskravet. Alla erbjuder simskola för de som inte uppnår kunskapskravet. I resultatet framkom det att alla lärare begränsas av ramfaktorer, som tillgång till simhall, att det finns för lite tid samt att simskolankostar. Alla idrottslärare tar hänsyn till kulturella hinder som finns genom att de tillåter de flickor som önskar att gå på kvinnosim eller att ha kläder på sig vid simningen.

Slutsats

Studiens slutsats är att de intervjuade lärarna i Idrott och hälsa anser att simningen endast är för kontrollera om eleven klarar kunskapskravet. Alla skulle vilja ha mer tid till att bedriva simundervisning.

Abstract [en]

The purpose of this study was to examine the physical education teachers' perception of and work with the aspect of swimming at school. The purpose has led to the following questions:

  • How do the teachers at the school swimming classes?
  • What factors are affecting sport teacher's ability to conduct swimming classes?
  • How do PE teacher /school account of cultural barriers in terms of swimming education?

Method

Four interviews were conducted with teachers in physical education who worked in various municipalities around Stockholm.

Results

The study's conclusion is that the interviewed teachers of Physical Education believe that swimming is only for the control of the student passes the knowledge requirement. All offers swimming lessons for those who do not attain the knowledge requirement. The result showed that all teachers are limited by frame factors such as access to the swimming pool, there is too little time, and that swimming school costs. Allphysical education teachers take account of cultural barriers in that they allow the girls who want to go on women sim or to have clothes onwhen swimming.

Conclusion

The study's conclusion is that the interviewed teachers of Physical Education believe that swimming is only to check if the student passes the knowledge requirement. Everyone would like to have more time to conduct swimming classes.
