Sammanfattning

Det övergripande syftet med studien har varit att utifrån ett läroplansteoretiskt perspektiv undersöka innehållet i idrottsundervisningen i ämnet Idrott och hälsa A på tre friskolor med utgångspunkt i elevintervjuer. Vidare har ett syfte varit att fördjupa kunskapen om hur eleverna uppfattar lärarnas betygsbedömning i relation till kursplanens kunskapskrav och mål.

Metod

Den datainsamlingsmetod som använts i studien har varit strukturerade intervjuer med nio elever från tre olika gymnasieskolor. Skolorna är etablerade och ligger i tre olika kommuner som jag slumpmässigt valt ut. Eleverna blev förvarnade om att intervjun skulle ske och samtalen varade cirka tio minuter per styck. Elevernas svar kategoriserades utifrån den nationella kursplanens mål för att sedan analyseras med hjälp av Göran Lindes analysmodell om formuleringsarenan, transformeringsarenan samt realiseringsarenan.

Resultat

Elevernas beskrivningar av idrottsundervisningen tydde på att det finns brister i undervisningen utifrån de nationella kunskapsmålen för kursen Idrott och hälsa A. De specifikt i kursplanen omnämnda aktiviteterna dans och friluftsliv har nästintill inte existerat på de tre skolorna. Eleverna på de tre skolorna har delade uppfattningar om hur kursmålen presenterats. Ingen av eleverna vet vilka bedömningsgrunder som utgjort underlag för bedömning eller vilka kunskapskrav som skall uppnås för de olika betygsstegen.

Slutsats

Elevernas utsagor tyder på att idrottsundervisningen på realiseringsnivån inte skapade förutsättningar för att uppnå kursmålen för Idrott och hälsa A. Eleverna har uppfattat undervisningen som relativt varierad, men den har inte utgått från de givna målen nationella styrdokumenten på formuleringsnivån. Utgångspunkterna för lärarnas bedömning har enligt eleverna varit mycket otydliga då eleverna inte vet vilka kunskapskrav som ligger till grund för bedömning. Konsekvenserna av detta blev att eleverna inte hade möjlighet att nå de krav som är formulerade för kursen Idrott och hälsa A. Det är osäkert om elevernas kunskaper på realiseringsnivån överensstämmer med de kunskapsmål och betygskriterier på formuleringsnivån.

Aim

The comprehensive aim of the study has been to investigate the curriculum and the teaching of Physical education and health A (PEHA) in three independent upper secondary schools by conducting interviews with pupils. A further aim has been to acquire a deeper knowledge about how pupils understand teachers’ assessment compared with the goals from the syllabus.

Method

The method used in the study has been structured interviews with nine pupils from three different schools. The schools are well established and are situated in three different areas, which randomly were picked out. The pupils were forewarned about the interview and each conversation lasted approximately ten minutes. The pupils’ answers have been analyzed in accordance with Göran Lindes investigative curriculum model of the arenas of formulation, transformation and realization.

Results

The pupils’ descriptions of the tuition in PEHA show that there are shortcomings in the teaching based on the national syllabus for the course. For instance, the activities dance and outdoor life, which are specifically mentioned in the syllabus, have not been present at the realization arena at the three schools. One pupil stated that the goals of the syllabus have been presented, while other pupils did not recall this. None of the pupils knew about the objectives to be achieved (or attained) or the levels of achievement as indicated by the different grading criteria in PEHA.

Conclusions

The pupils perceived the tuition to be relatively varied, but it is doubtful if it has been in correlation to the intention of the steering documents on the arena of formulation. The basis for assessment has been unclear to the pupils as they were not aware of the objectives to be achieved in the course. The consequences of this leads to a questioning whether the pupils have had the possibility to fulfil and/or demonstrate the required level of achievement for PEHA. Therefore it is unsure if the pupils’ knowledge on the level of realization in the investigated schools stands in agreement with the assessment criteria on the formulation arena.
