Abstract [sv]

Syfte

Syftet är att undersöka hur elever i årskurs 9 uppfattar friluftslivet som fenomen samtkunskapsämne i skolan. Vidare ämnar studien undersöka vilka faktorer som påverkar dessa uppfattningar och elevers relation till friluftslivet.

Frågeställningar

- Vad är friluftsliv utifrån elevers perspektiv?

- Hur upplever elever tillgängligheten till olika former av friluftsliv?

- Hur upplever elever skolans undervisning om friluftsliv?

Metod

Metoden omfattar en kvalitativ forskningsdesign med en fenomenologisk ansats där 12 elever från tre olika skolor intervjuades. Intervjuerna spelades in, transkriberades och bearbetades med hjälp av en tematisk analys. Analysen av den insamlade datan utgick från studiens frågeställningar och relaterades till tidigare forskning samt Bourdieus habitusbegrepp och Engströms praktiker som användes som teoretiskt ramverk.

Resultat

Resultatet tyder på att elever har olika perspektiv på friluftsliv, med varierande erfarenheter och preferenser. Eleverna upplever tillgängligheten till friluftslivet som god men resultatet ger en mer komplex bild där flera hinder nämns. I skolan upplever eleverna att de får lära sig om orientering och traditionella friluftsaktiviteter.

Slutsats

Eleverna upplever svårigheter att definiera fenomenet friluftsliv och begreppet reduceras oftast till fysisk aktivitet och idrotter. I skolundervisningen uppfattar eleverna att de främst möter aktivitetsbaserade aktiviteter där orientering dominerar. Slutsatsen vi drar är att dessa varierande uppfattningar och relationer till friluftslivet kan förklaras av socioekonomiska, kulturella, sociala och kunskapsrelaterade faktorer samt en bristfällig skolundervisning.

Aim and research questions

The purpose is to examine how students in 9th grade perceive friluftsliv as a phenomenon andas a subject in school. Furthermore, the study aims to explore the factors influencing theseperceptions and students' relationship with friluftsliv.

  •  What is friluftsliv from the perspective of students?
  •  How do students perceive the accessibility of various forms of friluftsliv?
  •  How do students experience school education about friluftsliv?

Method

The method involves a qualitative research design with a phenomenological approach, where 12 students from three different schools were interviewed. The interviews were recorded, transcribed, and processed using a thematic analysis. The analysis of the collected data wasbased on the study's research questions and related to previous research, as well as Bourdieu'sconcept of habitus and Engström's practices, which were used as a theoretical framework.

Results

The results indicate that students have different perspectives on friluftsliv, with varying experiences and preferences. Students perceive the accessibility to friluftsliv as good, but the results paint a more complex picture where several obstacles are mentioned. In school,students perceive that they learn about orienteering and other traditional activities of friluftsliv.

Conclusion

Students experience difficulties in defining the phenomenon of friluftsliv, and the concept isoften reduced to physical activity and sports. In school, students perceive that they primarily encounter activity-based activities dominated by orienteering. The conclusion drawn is that these varying perceptions and relationships with friluftsliv can be explained bysocioeconomic, cultural, social, and knowledge-related factors, as well as in adequate schooleducation.
