Syfte och frågeställningar

Syftet med uppsatsen var att undersöka hur handbollsinstruktörer på NIU-gymnasier uppfattar ämnet specialidrott. Vidare var syftet även att undersöka betyg- och bedömningsprocessen i ämnet.  

Studiens fyra huvudsakliga frågeställningar var: På vilka sätt uppfattar instruktörer ämnets innehåll och hur uppfattar de att undervisningen speglar kursplanens delar? Vad uppfattar instruktörerna att eleverna lär sig inom ämnet specialidrott? På vilka sätt arbetar instruktörerna med betyg och bedömning inom ämnet specialidrott? Vilka svårigheter anser instruktörer att det finns med betyg och bedömning i ämnet specialidrott?  

Teori och metod

Studien genomfördes utifrån en kvalitativ ansats. Datainsamlingen gjordes genom intervjuer med fem instruktörer som arbetade med ämnet specialidrott, där en semistrukturerad intervjuguide låg till grund för intervjuerna och all insamlade data analyserades sedan genom en tematisk innehållsanalys. Studiens teoretiska ramverk var läroplansteori.

Resultat

Studiens resultat visade att handbollsinstruktörer på NIU-gymnasier i Stockholmsområdet uppfattade en tydlig progression mellan kurserna i idrottsspecialisering vilket de menade skapade förutsättningar för ett tydligt undervisningsupplägg. Instruktörerna uppfattade att eleverna dels lärde sig helheten och vad som krävs för att leva som en elitidrottare, dels en hel del handbollstekniska och taktiska kunskaper och färdigheter. Den praktiska bedömningen gör instruktörerna genom att tematisera handbollsundervisningen i olika handbollsteman och den teoretiska bedömningen görs genom prov och inlämningar. Till sist beskrev instruktörerna att det svåraste med betyg och bedömning var vad som skulle väga tyngst för betyget samt de nationella nivåskillnaderna i landet.  

Slutsatser

Instruktörerna menar att eleverna på NIU lär sig dels handbollstekniska och taktiska kunskaper, dels en helhetsbild över elitidrott. Instruktörerna upplever att det svåraste i betyg och bedömning är att avgöra vilka kunskaper som väger tyngst för betyget.

Aim and research question 

The purpose of the essay was to investigate how handball instructors at NIU high schools perceive the subject of special sports. Furthermore, the purpose was also to examine the grading and assessment process in the subject. The four main questions of the study were: In what way do instructors perceive the content of the subject and how do they perceive that the teaching reflects the parts of the syllabus? What do the instructors perceive that the students learn in the subject of special sports? In what way do the instructors work with grades and assessment in the subject of special sports? What difficulties do instructors think there are with grades and assessment in the subject of special sports?    

Theory and method

The study was carried out based on a qualitative approach. The data collection was done through interviews with five instructors who worked with the subject of special sports, where a semi-structured interview guide was the basis for the interviews and all collected data was then analyzed through a thematic content analysis. The study's theoretical framework was curriculum theory.

Results 

The results of the study showed that handball instructors at NIU high schools in the Stockholm area perceived a clear progression between the courses in sports specialization, which they believed created the conditions for a clear teaching structure. The instructors perceived that the students partly learned the whole and what is required to live as an elite athlete, partly a lot of handball technical and tactical knowledge and skills. The instructors make the practical assessment by thematizing the handball teaching in different handball themes and the theoretical assessment is made through tests and submissions. Finally, the instructors described that the most difficult thing about grades and assessment was what would weigh the most heavily on the grade and the national level differences in the country.

Conclusions

The instructors believe that the students at NIU learn partly technical and tactical knowledge in handball, partly an overall view of elite sports. The instructors feel that the most difficult thing in grades and assessment is to determine which knowledge weighs the most for the grade.
