Abstract [sv]

Syfte

Syftet med vår studie är att undersöka och jämföra hur idrottslärare i storstad och på landsbygden arbetar med ämnesområdet friluftsliv. Vi vill också undersöka om det finns likheter och skillnader i deras syn och arbetssätt gällande lärandet i friluftsliv.

Frågeställningar

1. Hur ser storstad- respektive landsbygdsidrottslärare på lärandet i friluftsliv?

2. Hur arbetar storstad- respektive landsbygdsidrottslärare med friluftsliv?

3. Vilka faktorer påverkar storstad- respektive landsbygdsidrottslärares undervisning i friluftsliv?

Metod

Läroplans- och ramfaktorteorin var vår utgångspunkt i denna uppsats. Vi genomförde fem individuella semistrukturerade intervjuer med lärare i idrott och hälsa via videosamtal på plattformen Zoom. Urvalet bestod av två lärare från landsbygden samt tre lärare från storstadsregioner. Analysmetoden var av induktiv karaktär där vi först transkriberade intervjuerna till textformat för att sedan kategorisera och tematisera.

Resultat

Lärarna anser att positiva upplevelser av friluftsliv är av betydelse och att allemansrättens olika delar ska beaktas. Lärarna undervisade mycket i utemiljöer men bristen på naturnära miljöer leder till att undervisningen karaktäriseras av idrottsliga aktiviteter. Faktorer som tid, gruppstorlek, material och tillgång till närmiljöer påverkar friluftslivsundervisningen. Har en lärare naturmiljöer lättillgängligt möjliggör det för mer friluftslivsundervisning.

Slutsats

Samtliga idrottslärare har liknande syn på vad undervisningen i friluftsliv ska innehålla. Dock finns det en osäkerhet i tolkningen av läroplanen bland några av lärarna vad som ska ingå i undervisningen av friluftsliv. Tillgången till närmiljöer påverkar lärarnas undervisning i friluftsliv samt andra faktorer som tid, material och gruppstorlek.

Abstract [en]

Aim

The purpose of our study is to investigate and compare how physical education teachers in Metropolis and in the countryside work with the subject, outdoor life. We also want to investigate whether there are similarities and differences in their views and working methods regarding learning in outdoor life.

Research questions

1. How do metropolitan and rural sports teachers view learning in outdoor life?

2. How do metropolitan and rural sports teachers work with outdoor life?

3. What factors influence metropolitan and rural sports teachers' teaching of outdoor life?

Method

The curriculum and framework factor theory was our starting point in this essay. We conducted five individual semi-structured interviews with teachers of sports and health via video calls on the Zoom platform. The sample consisted of two teachers from the countryside and three teachers from metropolitan regions. The analysis method was of an inductive nature where we first transcribed the interviews into text format and then categorized and thematized.

Results

The teachers believe that positive experiences of outdoor life are important and that the various parts of the right of public access must be taken into account. The teachers taught a lot in outdoor environments, but the lack of environments close to nature leads to the teaching being characterized by sports activities. Factors such as time, group size, materials and access to local environments affect outdoor life education. If a teacher has natural environments easily accessible it allows for more outdoor life teaching.

Conclusions

All physical education teachers have a similar view of what outdoor life teaching should include. However, there is an uncertainty in the interpretation of the curriculum among some of the teachers as to what should be included in the teaching of outdoor life. Access to local environments affects teachers' teaching of outdoor life as well as other factors such as time, materials and group size.
